I proudly support Asheville’s Google Fiber Initiative.  This project will help stimulate business and economic growth for our area.  This would allow Asheville to continue to grow on controlled basis. Having Google in Asheville would also provide advanced technology for our area and make our area more competitive in attracting new businesses.  Of course, this project would increase the customer base for Google, and Google would benefit from selecting Asheville as well.  The area is an attractive place to live with outdoor activities, great restaurants, four seasons, night life, and more - not to mention to great talent pool we already have locally that would also benefit from this project.

With the greater Asheville area applying to be that partner with Google, here is how you can help:

• Nominate Asheville:  This is the most important and easiest step.              
• Ask your friends to nominate Asheville.
• Put a badge on your website to show your support for bringing Google fiber to town.  
• Publicly endorse Asheville’s effort to attract Google fiber.
• Write about why you want Google fiber in Asheville using your web site or blog.

Submission Deadline: Google will make the initial selection of cities to be examined more closely after the deadline for submissions has passed on March 26, 2010 - so be sure to nominate today!

After further evaluation, a final selection will be made and work will commence shortly thereafter.
