Our hunt for the perfect Asheville market report continues. If you have one to add to this list, leave mention of it in a comment.

Here is my list of ingredients for a perfect market report:

• Compares like time periods a year apart
• Is limited in geographic scope to our area
• Includes price ranges, units sold, appreciation rate, time on the market, and absorption rate.
• Includes both a chart of numbers and a visual representation of those numbers - like a graph or diagram
• Summary fits on one printed page.  Perhaps I’d add a detail view of the median price homes on a second page.

Collection of local Asheville Market Reports:

• Comparison of August 2007 and 2008 real estate sales by Dan Davies.
• Keller Williams Asheville market report updated every Thursday.
• Trulia’s Asheville market reports
• Beverly Hank’s 2nd quarter report as a pdf download.
• A collection of brief summary reports by North Carolina city name from House Hunt News.

The Trulia report is easy to use, and I like the data reported in the Beverly Hanks document, but none of them hit the home run.
