National vs Local; Asheville real estate market reports
by Sparkdog ~ August 30th, 2008. Filed under: Asheville market reports.Asheville has been recognized for increasing affordale housing.
The Wall Street Journal has another piece on the national housing trend. The short version you probably know: the market is tough for sellers in most places.
The Wall Street Journal article and the many, many similar articles recently published make me think of Thomas “Tip” O’Neill, or at least a paraphrase of his words, “All housing is local.” There are trends, trends within trends and mini micro trends in any market, and the Asheville real estate market is no exception. Anyone have a link to interesting Asheville trends? Here’s the link to the Keller Williams numbers that were updated on Thursday, but I’d love to link to other reports if they are out there.
- If you have a market report that you like, link to it in a comment and I’ll make sure it goes up.
If you’re looking through a pile of Asheville real estate listings trying to find your next home, the market data reports can help you gauge where to make an offer, which locations are likely to hold their value best, and, if you’re a seller or investor, what price level of home is easiest to sell at a given time. So these reports aren’t for the realtors - they’re for the rest of us.
